Rameswaram – one who is lord of Rama – a favoured stop for the spiritual tourist is now seeing the tide is turning, slowly and graciously.

This island seaside town is 170-odd km south-west of the equally famous temple town of Madurai, and these days it sees tourists with more adventurous plans trickling in to its shores. With low waves and a dry, tropical climate, almost like a large river, the beach here is ideal for water sports. With plenty of other tourist attractions, this can be a trip for the family or even groups of friends.
